Vermont Festival of the Arts

The Mad River Valley is home to a large, diverse community of artists.
Every year, in August, the Mad River Valley plays host to The Vermont Festival of the Arts. With more than 125 arts-related events and activities including painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, culinary, literary, music, theatre arts, and more. The artists open their studios to the public, so visitors can see behind the scenes and watch them create their art.
The Vermont Festival of the Arts has been honored as a Top 10 Vermont Summer Event in just about every year since 1999! In 2007, Vermont Life published an article on the Vermont Festival of the Arts. In 2009, the festival garnered Top Event accolades from Travel & Leisure, Yankee Magazine, American Bus Association, and Vermont Vacation Guide.
